Position description

Applications are invited for an LSE Fellowship based in the Department of International Relations to commence on the 1st September 2022. The Fellowship is a fixed-term appointment for two years.

The appointed person will contribute to research and teaching on European Security and Defence, including convening and teaching on the masters-level course European Defence and Security and other UG and PGT teaching as required.

Candidates should have:

  • successfully completed, or be close to completing, a PhD in International Relations or related discipline, by the post start date;
  • have a very good knowledge of International Relations;
  • a developing research record on European Politics, International Relations in Europe, or European Defence and Security is required;
  • excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • the ability to work in close partnership with fellow teachers and to foster an engaging and supportive learning environment;
  • a commitment to equality and diversity.

Relevant teaching experience, experience of managing and contributing to course virtual learning environments, and experience in carrying out course administration are desirable.
