Position description

International policy and how the UK positions itself on the global stage has never been more important. Business is an essential partner in delivering the UK’s international aims. They also need to understand and mitigate new risks globally whilst identifying and harnessing new opportunities for growth. CBI’s Head of International Policy is a high-profile position for an individual with ambition, leadership and a passion for making a difference as we look to seize the moment and build a resilient future-focused economy.

The Russia/Ukraine crisis, tensions with China and the effects of the pandemic have all shone a light on how interconnected the world is. It has shown the need to improve supply chain resilience, the growing importance of economic diplomacy and how integral a globalised economy is for UK prosperity and growth. To address these challenges the UK government and businesses will need a much closer partnership. We will need to work together to champion free trade, drive export-led growth, develop stronger global relationships and support the rules-based system. Business leadership and international collaboration will be fundamental to success with CBI’s International Directorate at the heart of delivering this vision on behalf of our members.
